St. Paul’s International school has witnessed yet another vibrant and fruitful academic year. and has completed 20 years of service towards providing quality education. We thank the Almighty God for his abundant blessings. Two decades have passed, since this temple of knowledge has sprouted. The alumni are the shining stars in different walks of life and we hope that they will continue to sparkle due to the human values and the structured learning they received from this institution.

It is with a deep sense of pride and gratitude that I present before you the 21th Annual report of the school, briefing the activities in the year 2023-24.
St.Paul’s International School, Kalamassery is a Christian Educational institution affiliated to CBSE. St.Pauls embodies and epitomizes the spirit of excellence rooted in the rich traditions and heritage of the Archdiocese of Verapoly. Down through the years the intake of students has increased and presently we have 1450 students, 130 staff members in teaching, administration and ancillary services.The school has consistently maintained high academic standards with 100% pass,several national ranks and distinctions.Currently we have Pre-kg, Kindergarten and classes I-XII in the school. At present We have Science & Commerce streams offering different combinations of subjects to suit the taste and ambition of our students. In the coming academic year we are pleased to introduce Humanities Stream and offer additional subjects such as legal Studies, Entrepreneurship along with the existing Artificial Intelligence and Mass Media.
Height of Success of Paulians in CBSE X and XII Board Exams
We feel immensely proud of our students for giving such an excellent result in-class X CBSE examination 2022-’23.
Out of the 61 students who appeared, 8 students attained full A1, 31 students secured above 90%, 28 scored distinction and 2 won first class. Ms. Karthika Pillai picked up the top most position in class X scoring 98.2%.

In CBSE XII Board Examination 2022-’23. Out of 38 students appeared, 9 secured 90%, 26 won distinction and 3 gained first class. The school topper from Science stream Ms. Husna C. K. with 97.8%, made the school proud by scoring 100 marks in IP and remains as the National topper. Ms. Vaidehi Varma topped the Commerce stream with 98.4%. The school Management appreciated the excellent performance of the students. The result is the fruit of the relentless and united hard work extended by the teachers and students with the support of parents.
Infrastructure
This academic year we are privileged to have a sprawling Football turf for the sporting talents of our school. Spread across 16000sqft, the turf which is a part of the Paulian Sportsplex boasts of international standards to host 2 5s matches or a 7s match at a time. Facilities for Indoor and Outdoor basket ball and nets for Cricket practice are also included. At present students are receiving specialised coaching in Football and Handball. Other exclusive facilities include a state of the art Studio for audio and video recordings and an AI- Robotics Lab which will start functioning very soon.
Commencement of the Academic Year
The school academic year 2023-24 commenced on 1st June with a special assembly . The Director Rev. Fr. Sabu Nedunilathu introduced the newly appointed Principal Mrs. Sunitha Binu Samuel to the Staff and students.
Retreat
To begin the new academic year with the right motivation and direction a retreat was organised for the students. Titled FOCUS 2023 it was led by Rev. Fr. Dominic and his dedicated team who provided a reflective and spiritual experience to the students.
Vidyarambham
Vidyarambham for the students of L.K.G took place on 8th June. The little ones were initiated into the world of letters in the presence of the renowned poet Mr. Sippy Pallipuram along with the eminent dignitaries of the school.
Academics
The academic calendar is designed for effective learning ,assessment and remediation.Performance of our students were evaluated periodically through exams like Weekly Tests,Mid-Term, Term, and Model Exams. Olympiads are given due importance and students are encouraged to participate. It challenges their intellect and promotes deeper understanding.
Students participated in the SOF GK Olympiad, Science Olympiad,Social Science Olympiad,Cyber Olympiad,Hindi Olympiad,Mathematics Olympiad, Reasoning and Aptitude Olympiad and International English Olympiad and won numerous Medals of Gold and Distinction.
Co-curricular activities

Over the academic year we have a range of carefully curated Co-curricular activities that helps in building dynamic personalities. Inter-House Cultural and Literary Fest-Felicidad is a platform for Paulians to showcase their creativity and talents.Onstage and offstage events make two days on the campus vibrant and magical.
Our students also participated in various championships, quizzes, competitions organized by CBSE as well as other organisations and schools and have won many accolades and prizes.
A team of senior secondary students took part in the Rajagiri Model United Nations and Swapasya MUN of Bhavans ,Eloor and won diplomacy awards and recognitions.
This year 40 students represented the school in 55 events at the Kochi Sahodaya Kalotsav and won prizes. Two students Anshika Dev and Rachael Mary Thomas were selected for the All Kerala CBSE Kalotsav hosted by Sree Sarada Vidyalaya.
The tiny tots of St.Paul’s International Kindergarten also showcased their artistic abilities at the two day fest“Talentos’. Several students participated in Inter School competitions and won prizes.
Department of Malayalam in collaboration with Balajanasakhyam organised a ‘Kalliarangu” to foster skills and talents through edutainment.
Every department conducted competitions and events to promote language proficiency and creative thinking.
Club activities engage students to develop kinesthetic skills and explore their interests.
This year our students expanded their hobbies through 19 clubs, Quiz, Puppetry, Culinary, Fashion Design, Videography etc…just to name a few. Weekly activities added elements of curiosity,innovation and free thinking.
Ekspozicio - Annual Academic Exhibition of St. Paul's International School was inaugurated by Prof. Paul Ansel V, the Vice Principal of Albertian Institute of Science and Technology, Kalamassery. Ekspozicio proved to be an excellent platform to display the creative skills in science, languages and arts of students ranging from KG to class XII. The Interactive information kiosk of Computer Science Department, Puppetry show on effects of Social media by English Department, Culinary delights with Millets and tribute to Chandrayaan3 by Science Department were the major crowd pullers.Collaboration with industry partners such as Central Coir Research Institute, Alappuzha and ASAP Skill park, gave exposure on emerging trends in different industrial sectors. The stalls by IEDC St. Paul’s College and Department of EEE & ECE, AISAT provided opportunities to promote innovative thinking. Special stalls, including CSI Karunalayam, School for Intellectually Challenged, Aluva, broadened student’s insights into social initiatives and community engagement.
Sports
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Every Paulian is an ardent sports lover. They have proved their sportsman spirit at various levels. Inter-House Football, carroms, Chess etc brought out the best in our children.Track and Field events were also thoroughly enjoyed and well played.The Annual Sports Meet on 30 October was inaugurated By Olympian K J Manoj Lal on the grounds of St.Paul’s College. March Past, Yoga Display etc made the day a colourful one. Participants from the four Houses competed with true sportsmanship to excel and win.
The Annual Sports meet of the Kindergarten was also held in true sporting spirit with whole hearted participation of parents.
Our students participated in the Kochi Sahodaya Sports Meet hosted by Sree Narayana Vidyapeetom and made their mark. They also participated in the Debut District level Athletic Meet held at Sree Narayana Public School and secured prizes leading to State level Meet at Calicut on 1 December. The School teams also took part in various inter School tournaments in Football and Basketball.
Shastika A represented the school in several National level Swimming events and won prizes.
Student Elections & Investiture Ceremony
To Promote democratic values in students elections were conducted towards formation of the Student Council for the academic year. A “Meet the candidate” programme was organized to ensure that the young voters made an informed choice. Polling was held in four different booths using a digital voting system. The students elected were invested with their badges in a solemn Investiture Ceremony conducted on 12 July. Capt Cyril Mathew ,Chief Guest of the day administered the oath of Office to the Newly elected Student Council.Special Days & Observances
Every Monday and Friday School Assemblies are conducted on various themes .It is an occasion for the classes to prepare and present programmes, helping them to build confidence and overcome stage fear.
Observing special days adds flavor to the routine of day to day classroom learning.
Posters and solidarity drive marked the observance of Anti Child Labour day on 12 June.
A series of activities were initiated in connection with Reading Week(19-24 June) The Hindu in School programme was introduced to promote newspaper reading. On 21 June International Yoga day was commemorated with displays and awareness talks. Flash mob conducted on Pi approximation day took everyone by surprise and proved to be an eye catcher.
To raise awareness on Water conservation, a skating rally took place. It was Flagged off by Kerala Water Authority Assistant Executive Engineer Sri Anil K Augustine. The rally in connection with UNEP Water Week spread awareness in the local community and students of St.Paul’s College.
Kargil Diwas, International Tiger Day, International Science Day, Social Media Day etc were observed through posters and video presentations.
In connection with World Space Week, Scientist Mr. Vishnu C from ISRO spoke to the students on Space technology
St. Paul’s Kindergarten also observes special days to provide awareness on various topics. Learning becomes fun and lasting when activities such as live road safety (PHOTO)and rules are enacted or students dress up and speak up on objects,feelings, seasons etc.
Festivals & Celebrations
World Environment was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Jun 5, 2023. Guest of the Day Sri T.N Prathapan,State General Secretary Nadi Samrakshana Samiti led the tree planting ceremony and passionately spoke about the need for ecological conservation. Student representatives from each class joined in planting saplings all
around the campus.
Independence Day programmes instilled pride in each one towards our motherland.The Principal hoisted the tricolour in the presence of staff and students upholding the patriotic fervour of our nation.
Onam was celebrated with great vigour . The programme title Aarppo 2023 hosted by Himalaya House was graced by the presence of Playback Singer and proud Alumnus of our school Ms. Gayathri Rajeev.From thiruvathira kalli to vadam vali,
Pulikalli to payasam….Onam was relished by all.
Teacher’s day celebrations on 5th September was hosted by students of Class XII and a colourful cultural show along with games and mementos were arranged to show their respect to their beloved teachers.
Keraleeyam 2023-24 marked the Keral Piravi celebrations. Special performances of Kerala traditions were highlights of the programme.
November 14 fondly observed as Children’s day witnessed a mega gathering of Chachajis who rallied around the school campus with placards and later joined together to form Outline of India. Dance and musical performances by teachers were much appreciated by the children. Sand Art of Chacha Nehru by K.G students was a visual treat.
Christmas season was heralded with pomp and Natale 2023 was hosted by Atlas House. Carols,Christmas gifts and Cakes filled the air with seasons delights.
Workshops & Awareness talks
St Paul’s International School continues to collaborate with Pinnacle trainers to provide Life Skill training to all students. Apart from these activities, regular talks and awareness programmes are arranged . Sessions on Drug Abuse and Menstrual Hygiene were conducted by doctors from Lourde’s Institute of Behavioural Sciences. A team of students from SCMS college made aware the consequences of substance abuse through role play and Mime.
Students of Class XI attended an open House program on Design Thinking.
Students of Mass Media visited the Mathrubhoomi Unit and gathered insights on Newspaper printing.
A session on career opportunities and courses in commerce field was conducted to widen the students options for higher education
Awareness on Organic farming was given through The REAP-Regenerative Education on Agricultural Practices
A team of 14 students participated in Haritha Sabha organised by Government of Kerala at Kalamassery Municipal Hall.
Mr Bharatchandran from the Motor Vehicles Department gave an informative talk on
the rules to be followed while driving.
Excursions
The iconic Charminar and the internationally famed Ramoji Film City enthralled our students who went on a 5 day educational trip to Hyderabad. 72 Students from X-XII took part in this learning expedition which undoubtedly enhances their outlook and perspectives leaving behind long lasting memories.
Meanwhile the students of Kindergarten and Classes I and II engaged in a playful day picnic at Chittilapilly Square Wellness Park. All classes visited various tourist destinations and enjoyed a pleasurable day.
A field trip to Naval Base gave our students an opportunity to see the military capabilities of the Indian Navy and explore the career options.
The students of Culinary club got an opportunity for a Restaurant tour at Domino’s Pizza and learned to make their own pizza. It was an eye opening experience for the young chefs.
Inter School Activities
St. Paul’s International School was privileged to host two Inter-School competitions.
The Paulian Kinderfest on 21 October saw the coming together of 30 city schools and 500 participants to compete for 14 different events organised for Pre-K.G, L.KG and U.K.G Rajagiri Christu Jayanthi Kindergarten were the overall champions.
The second edition of Inter-School Grafitti competition was conducted on 3rd November. Out of 13 participating teams, Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya ,Kakkand emerged victorious. Cash prizes worth RS 18000/- were given out to the prize winners.
Partenza
‘Partenza’ is a befitting farewell for the students of class XII in every academic year at SPIS. It is a nostalgic moment as our students are set to spread their wings and soar high.
Parent Teacher Meeting
Parent Teacher Meetings were conducted during the academic session to give an appraisal to parents about their ward’s performance and to discuss how we could, hand in hand, help to make our students better learners and good citizens. Apart from these meetings, the Teachers and the Office Staff were in constant touch with the parents and students.
Training, Seminars, Orientation and Counselling
SPIS opens up new vistas for the teachers to improve their professional competencies This year too teachers participated in all the mandatory workshops organised by CBSE and attended several workshops for building teaching proficiency.
